EU Competition Associate | International Law Firm

For an international law firm based in Brussels, I am looking for an EU Competition Associate with 1 to 6 years of relevant experience gained at a leading US or UK law firm. Excellent command of English is essential.

The firm is a well-established international law firm advising major multinational companies on complex legal and regulatory matters. Its highly regarded competition law practice handles sophisticated EU and cross-border matters for international clients.

The European team operates as a fully integrated practice, with lawyers from different offices regularly working together on the same matters and collaborating closely with colleagues in the United States.

As an EU Competition Associate, you will join the Brussels team and advise international clients on a broad range of EU competition law matters. Depending on your experience, your responsibilities will include:

• Advising clients on EU competition law and regulatory matters
• Assisting with merger control and foreign direct investment proceedings
• Working on antitrust investigations, including restrictive agreements and abuse of dominance
• Advising on regulatory developments affecting competition and market access
• Conducting legal research and drafting legal opinions, submissions and other documents
• Working closely with colleagues on complex, cross-border cases and transactions
• Participating in client meetings and interactions with regulatory authorities

• You hold a Master’s degree in Law
• You have approximately 1 to 6 years of relevant experience in EU competition law
• You have gained experience at a leading international US or UK law firm
• You have a strong academic background and excellent legal research, analytical and drafting skills
• You are able to work independently and manage your priorities effectively
• You demonstrate intellectual curiosity, sound judgement and attention to detail
• You are proactive, collaborative and comfortable working in an international environment
• You have an excellent command of English
