Contracts Counsel | Global Engineering Company

For an international company, I am looking for a Contracts Counsel with at least 5 years of relevant experience in drafting and negotiating contracts. Fluent in English, preferably with good command of French.

The company is a global market leader with Belgian roots active in the design, delivery and implementation of complex technical and industrial solutions. Operating on a global scale, it supports clients across multiple markets and regions through project-based activities. The group combines engineering expertise, project execution capabilities and long-term client partnerships within an international environment.

Based at the company’s headquarters, you will join the legal department and provide legal support to the group worldwide. Your responsibilities will include:

• Analysing and negotiating engineering, procurement and construction contracts in an international context
• Handling legal matters, including drafting legal opinions and reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts
• Reviewing, improving and maintaining standard contracts
• Advising business teams on legal risk mitigation in their daily operations
• Providing legal support on corporate matters
• Managing relationships with external legal advisors
• Ensuring trade and privacy compliance
• Addressing post-implementation issues, contractual disputes and conducting negotiations to prevent litigation

• You hold a Master’s degree in law
• You have at least 5 years of relevant experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts in English
• You demonstrate strong business acumen and an interest in technical environments
• You are able to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• You are able to manage your workload and priorities effectively
• You are assertive, persuasive, pragmatic and proactive
• You pay close attention to detail
• You have strong analytical and summarising skills
• You communicate clearly and effectively
• You maintain a positive attitude and perform well under pressure
• You are willing to travel occasionally for short periods of time if necessary
• You are fluent in English. A good command of French is a real asset
